Shirley Roberson is Senior Associate at HMLG, where she focuses on corporate transactions - including mergers & acquisitions, software licensing and distribution management, and business asset management. Shirley was a founding partner of Arrow Law Group, a Seattle-based firm focused on consumer and commercial bankruptcies. While practicing bankruptcy, Shirley was frequently listed in the Top 25 of 722 Redemption Funding, Inc.’s quarterly reports on Washington State bankruptcy attorneys.
As the former in-house Programming Director for Wave Broadband®, she implemented a number of prototype corporate initiatives addressing HD and VOD programming during the initial roll-out of these technologies to the cable industry. Before trekking North to Seattle, Shirley enjoyed the L.A. sun and serving as a clerk, paralegal and, after passing the California bar exam, associate at a local firm representing some of the largest retail and commercial development projects in the Los Angeles area.
Before attending Loyola Law School, she put her MBA to work as a communications manager for DIRECTV®, driving projects that introduced local satellite programming, international programming, VOD, geography-based sports broadcasting and DVR technology to DIRECTV’s international customer base. Shirley also served as a litigation analyst with the NASD, now known as FINRA, taking down the bad guys on Wall Street. Her expertise in corporate strategy and negotiation gives Shirley an intimidating edge when it comes time to taking the hard line. You see, while Shirley is a genuine Georgia peach and as sweet-as-apple-pie on the 4th of July, Shirley can craft an opposition letter that will singe the eyebrows off a mannequin!
